On Friday 27th May, we made a long-awaited return to Stone-X Stadium for our 2022 Sports Day. With our last sports day taking place back in 2019, the experience was new one for most students in Year 7-9, and perhaps a distant memory for those in Year 10. With an expanded programme of events covering the full range of track and field disciplines, we were able to enjoy a phenomenal day of high quality performances in the glorious sunshine.
Having had weeks of athletics lessons to prepare for the big day, excitement reached fever pitch on the morning of the event, as students, staff, and parents descended on the stadium. There were spectacular performances throughout the day as students sprinted round the track, paced themselves on the longer distances, and showed their impressive athletic skills in the field events. The crowds in the stands were fantastic and the support shown for everyone, regardless of their 'house' was testament to our students and their kindness towards one another. After totalling up all the scores across 7-10, Hillary House was crowned Sports Day Champions for 2022!
