On Wednesday 18th January, The Totteridge Academy celebrated its Foundation Day with a festival of music, song and speeches, all on the theme of ‘Excellence’.
As well as parents and governors, the school welcomed adventurer and endurance athlete Sophie Radcliffe, who spoke during the ceremony. In her role as Sports Ambassador for United Learning, Sophie gave an account of her experiences and encouraged students to take advantage of every opportunity presented to them.
The School Choir gave a spectacular performance of the song ‘Hold Back The River’, whilst the Head Boy and Girl gave an impressive speech on the topic ‘What is excellence?” Year 10 students put on a sketch entitled ‘Teechers’, and the ceremony also included a variety of works performed by the Academy’s talented musicians.
Also in attendance were United Learning’s Chief Executive Jon Coles and Dame Sally Coates, Director of Southern Academies for the group, who will continue to work closely with the school.
