On Tuesday 14th December, The Totteridge Academy held its annual Winter Concert with a range of performances by students from years 7-11. The performances featured solos, duets, bands and choir performances which students had been preparing in music clubs this term and in their own time.
Over 200 guests gathered in the school hall for the evening to watch group performances including Twist and Shout by The Beatles, Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns N’ Roses and Heathens by Twenty One Pilots. These were accompanied by vocal solos and a piano solo from various Year 8 students.
The evening ended with a fantastic performance of Blinded by Your Grace Part II by Stormzy from year 11 music GCSE vocalists, followed by a beautiful rendition of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. This was followed by a year 7 performance of Wake Me Up by Aloe Blacc, featuring solos from Lucas on the cello and Gina on the violin. The staff and student choir ended the night with a rousing chorus of Merry Xmas Everyone by Shaking Stevens!
